Olivia Aspinall

Olivia Aspinall has been experimenting with surface design since her time at Central Saint Martins. Upon leaving the prestigious arts school she founded a Nottingham based studio in 2015 and has gone on to work on a number of bespoke projects. These have given her the opportunity to perfect the creation of her terrazzo slabs into durable yet decorative pieces that can offer an alternative to conventional stone, tile and cast surfaces.

His latest design collaboration is with deVOL for the Chelsea Flower Show has resulted in The Metallics Kitchen Collection which brings beautiful complexity to life, with no fear of experiment using nothing but the finest, most unusual, natural materials.

KODA House

The KODA House provides a new way of thinking about how we can live our lives through prefabricated modular architecture, in the face of UK’s housing crisis. This 25-square-metre micro house was conceived by Kodasema, and aims to instigate a movement of self-built architecture that encourages better use of empty land plots.

The Hut

This delightful 600 square foot cabin was designed and built by the director of Midland Architecture; Greg Dutton and his brother Chris, as a retreat from the city for the family. The entire construction process took the brothers only nine months and was documented on Discovery Network’s Building off the Grid Series.

Ester Bruzkus’ Berlin Apartment

When the opportunity arose for Berlin-based architect Ester Bruzkus to move from the second to the top floor of her apartment building in Prenzlauerberg, a charming neighborhood of bohemian bonhomie and hipster flair, she jumped at the chance to re-imagine her living space with fresh ideas, not to mention the chance to enjoy panoramic views of Berlin.
